GURU VIDYA VINEETI - The Teacher Education Foundation

Guru Vidya Vineethi-The Teacher Education Foundation, in association with LNVN Nursery and Primary School, Karur conducted the Second Teacher Education Workshop on 25.09.2010, for the benefit of teachers and institutions in Karur District..

This workshop was organised to address the growing need for improved English Language skills among students at the school level.

The theme of the workshop was ‘Innovative English Language Teaching Methodology’.

Ms. Samathmika Balaji a Masters degree holder in TESOL(Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages) Studies from University of Leeds, UK and an English language teacher and trainer, piloted the various sessions. The topics included skill-based language teaching, second language acquisition, classroom dynamics, class room activities for the development of English language learning.

The areas covered in the workshop were based on modern concepts such as corpus linguistics and Task-based learning.

Around 40 teachers from renowned CBSE and Matriculation schools in Karur District participated in the workshop and utilised this unique opportunity to enhance their English language teaching skills.

The teacher participants felt that the workshop was very useful in gaining new perspectives about English Language teaching. They were also thrilled that the new language teaching activities demonstrated in the work shop, could be used in their classroom to help children learn English easily.

The Correspondent of Lakshmi Natrajan Vidya Nikethan School Mr.Balaji welcomed the gathering .

Successful completion of Global School Project and receiving Global Curriculum Grant !

The School has partnered with Carlton Primary School in Carlton,Leeds Yorkshire,UK.
Both schools received Global School Project Grant /Award from British Council and completed
the project successfully.
Now the schools have been chosen for a higher grant and we are working for Global Curriculum
Project!
The focus will be on projects on 'Water'.

Hello and welcome to LNVN school.
To say something about us, we are a Primary, Nursery, Kindergarten & Pre Kindergarten school located in Karur, Tamil Nadu, India.
We have about 250 pupils studying from pre-kindergarten to primary levels.
we also have a 'play-home' called 'Early years',where children below 3 years come to spend their mornings to play,learn,enjoy group activities and getting acquainted to school environment.
